Last night at flag lowering it was announced that we would be going to the BEACH today!!!
When the first bell rang, everyone was up, took dips if they wanted, made their beds, dressed in their bathing suit with a long sleeve shirt, water bottle, hat, towel and whatever else they wanted to take to the beach. Then it was up for flag raising and breakfast. After morning announcements, the buses were loaded and we were off for Scarborough Beach which is about 45 minutes from camp.
It was an awesome Beach Day! Sunny and warm with a bit of a breeze. The ocean was chilly at 67 degrees but that didn’t seem to stop anyone from swimming. There was plenty of time for that as well as sand castle building, playing, and just hanging out. We ate lunch and then did it all again. The buses were loaded again around 3 and everyone was back at camp around 4. It was straight to the lake for a dip to clean of the salt and sand and then to the cabins for Quiet Hour.
Tonight’s dinner was our usual Wednesday night “Jimmy Buffet” and it was a perfect night for eating outside. Then to the hall for a movie which was a good way to relax after a busy day in the sun.
